The Villalobos Brothers have been acclaimed as one of today's leading Contemporary Mexican ensembles. Their original compositions and arrangements masterfully blend and celebrate the richness of Mexican folk music with the intricate harmonies of jazz and classical music. The Villalobos Brothers deliver an intoxicating brew of brilliance, cadence and virtuosity that awaken the senses and mesmerize the listener.
Opening for the Villalobos Brothers this year is Alberto Lescay, a renowned trumpet player and keyboardist from Santiago de Cuba, currently living in Havana. Lescay's music combines traditional folkloric music from his family's Afro-Cuban heritage with jazz, soul, gospel and electronic sounds. Lescay will be joined by with Ben Barson on baritone sax, Gizelxanath on vocals, percussionists Riccardo Randellini, and pianist Samuel Boateng.
